Train Without the Pain with Zak George!

PetFlow is happy to announce a collaboration with Zak George! Zak is a world renowned dog trainer who recently published his first book, Zak George’s Dog Training Revolution. Zak has appeared in shows on both Animal Planet and BBC, and is famous for his easy-to-follow training YouTube videos. We are thrilled to welcome him, his philosophy – Train Without the Pain, and hopefully many more kisses from his three dogs!

Train Without the Pain

Everyone has seen the choke collars and the electric shock correctors. But, what if there was a way to train your dog to listen to every command without inflicting pain, discomfort, or fear? I know seeing a dog wince, cower, or shake from traditional training is distressing for everyone involved. That’s why I set out to show the world a new and positive approach to training without the pain.

Bond with your Dog

train without the pain
Everyone has fun when training involves positive rewards!

My Revolution Dog Training philosophy centers around the genuine connection every dog and human shares.  Becoming completely comfortable with this technique is going to take patience and a lot of time with your furry friend (but who wouldn’t want that!).

Zak frequently says, “The connection between a dog and a human exists only if there is a sincere effort to understand the dog’s needs.”

This bond between pet parent and dog allows for positive reactions rather than the dominance and fear based training of the past.

How do you begin this all important sincere relationship? First, you need to assess what kind of dog you have – we’re not talking about breed here, but rather their “energy”, as I refer to it. Does your dog follow your every move and still want to play? Or does your dog enjoy lounging in the sun and never gets bored of a belly rub? Maybe you have a dog that falls right between these groups. Whatever the energy level of your dog, take your dog out on a nice walk, play some fetch, or take a trip to the dog park, before you embark on any serious training.

Train with Positivity

Train without the pain allows for a positive relationship between you and your dog!

Once your dog has released some excess energy, a training session will be much easier for both you and your dog. Take the time to get to know your dog’s favorite things. Whether your dog is a maniac for tennis balls, a champion of tug toys, or a fanatic for food, make sure you have plenty of your dog’s favorite rewards during training. By rewarding with positive energy rather than painfully correcting unwanted behavior, you teach your dog to want to do the things you taught him to do.

After some consistent training sessions, the bond between you and your dog will grow to a new and happier level. I have countless videos to change your dog’s behavior or to teach your dog super cool tricks. The key to successful training is to make it less painful for both you and your pet. With my innovative and pain-free training methods, you’ll spend a lot more time bonding with your pup.
